Keto Stuffed Peppers
Starting a ketogenic diet doesn’t mean you’re forced to have bland food and keep craving for those not so healthy carbohydrate-rich nibbles that we are so used to. Keto Stuffed Peppers are not only delicious, but they are also Keto superfoods.
The different food types you can have on a Ketogenic diet have a lot of variety and with just a little planning in advance, plus some home cooking you can definitely spice up your Keto meals and in no time. Don’t be surprised if you totally forget how you used to eat during your pre-keto days!
One such recipe that will surely bring a thrill to your Keto meals is the Keto Stuffed Peppers recipe. This recipe leaves you satisfied while giving an excellent combination of nutritious goodness and flavor.
The multi-colored bell peppers are non-starchy vegetables, making them keto-friendly, and are also a source of essential vitamins, especially vitamin C, that is necessary for strengthening your immune system.
Green peppers have lower carbohydrate content as compared to the red or yellow. Also, beef is a rich source of protein. However, it should be kept in mind that overindulging in protein sources per day can kick you out of ketosis. Furthermore, 25% of your daily food should be protein.
This recipe is dairy-free and eggless. These can be stored in the refrigerator for 4 days and up to a month in the freezer. They are ideal as a stand-alone dish, but you can also pair it with some lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, and cucumber salad.
You could also serve the beef mixture in the raw or blanched bell pepper. To blanch the peppers all you need to do is dip them in a pot of boiling water and remove them after around 3 minutes.
Another variation of this recipe are the Feta Cheese Keto Stuffed Peppers. In this recipe for two, you mix 11 ounces of feta cheese, with 9 to 10 sliced olives (remove the seeds), 2 eggs, and some hot sauce. You can also add any herb you enjoy, oregano, thyme, or mint.
Put the mixture in a pepper sliced longitudinally. Bake it for 25 minutes at about 400 Fahrenheit or 200 Celsius. These stuffed pepper recipes are excellent for lunch boxes.
